At the northern tip of the Cotentin peninsula, just a few miles from the Cap Lévi lighthouse—known as KAPELWICK (“the cove of the chapel”), a name given by the Norman invaders—Ludovic Capelle produces an authentic Calvados that is lively, well-oxygenated, and energetic, much like its place of origin.

The phonetic similarity between Kapelwick and Capelle Ludovic also contributed to this name choice.

During a trade fair in Switzerland, after tasting a remarkable Alsatian whisky, Ludovic came up with the idea of creating his own Norman whisky using Calvados, and named it Kapelwick.

Aged in new oak barrels, this 9-year-old Calvados is highly appreciated as an aperitif for its fruity character with notes of vanilla.

A Calvados that combines roundness and power!

The Capelle family comprises the father (Théodore) and the son (Ludovic), as well as the wife and daughter-in-law. For each generation, it is a couple who have been at the helm of the family business, and it is thanks to this balance that the small business has grown and that everyone feels at home there.
