David Roussier

Founded in 1900 by Léon Warenghem, the distillery is a long-standing institution nestled on the Pink Granite Coast. Although it began with herbal liqueurs (such as the iconic Elixir d’Armorique), it was under the leadership of the Leizour family, and now David Roussier, that it became the first distillery to launch a 100% Breton whisky. A bold venture that has transformed the face of French spirits.

“Armorik” whisky embodies excellence by the water’s edge and has become a global benchmark. Distilled in two superb “Charentais”-style copper stills and matured under the influence of the Breton maritime climate, it offers a unique complexity. With notes of yellow fruit, honey and cereals, each cuvée (Single Malt, Sherry Finish, Edition Dervenn) expresses the wild and authentic character of Trégor.

Certified and committed expertise Warenghem does not rest on its laurels. As the first distillery to obtain the Breton Whisky Geographical Indication (GI), it controls the entire production chain: from mashing to bottling, including an in-house cooperage for certain casks. This independence guarantees consistent quality and total respect for artisanal traditions.

Today, David Roussier continues to innovate whilst preserving the company’s historical heritage. Whether it be their whiskies, their Chouchenn (the famous Melmor) or their Fine Bretagne, every drop pays tribute to the expertise of Lannion and the passion of a close-knit team united by a love of flavour.
