Aël Guégan

A distillery nestled between land and sea on the ‘Presqu’île Sauvage’ in Larmor-Pleubian, the Celtic Whisky Distillery is a place like no other. Housed in a former farmhouse overlooking the ocean, it draws its strength from its immediate surroundings. The maritime climate, sea spray and constant humidity of Brittany’s north coast play a crucial role in the unique character of its whiskies.

Through the art of traditional distillation under the guidance of Aël Guégan, master distiller, the distillery continues to practise artisanal methods that have become rare. Slow distillation in stills heated by direct flame and the use of coil condensers result in spirits of great richness, texture and depth of aroma.

Kornog and Glann Ar Mor: two faces of Brittany The distillery is world-renowned for gems such as Glann Ar Mor, an unpeated single malt with salty notes, and Kornog, a benchmark for lovers of peated and smoky whiskies. More recently, the Gwalarn blend has joined the range, creating a true bridge between the different terroirs of the Celtic Sea.

The quest for authenticity: every bottle is an invitation to discover a wild and uncompromising Brittany. With no chill filtration or colouring, the whiskies retain their natural colour and full intensity, offering a pure tasting experience, like an echo of the Atlantic surf crashing against the rocks of Pleubian.
