Nicol Family
A family tradition since 1928, and based in Surzur for nearly a century, Cidrerie Nicol is a true institution in Morbihan. Now run by Jean-Michel Nicol, it represents the third generation of passionate cider makers. The company has stood the test of time by remaining true to a simple philosophy: respecting the authenticity of the fruit to offer a generous, convivial cider, deeply rooted in its local area.
The subtle blend of sweet, bitter and tart varieties creates balanced ciders that reflect the diversity of the terroirs of the Rhuys peninsula. Here, the focus is on naturalness and authentic flavour, far removed from industrial standards.
Within the cider house, pressing and fermentation are monitored with constant care to ensure natural effervescence and consistent aromatic finesse. It is this technical mastery that enables the company to be regularly awarded medals at the Concours Général Agricole.
An iconic symbol of Morbihan, whether it be Royal Guillevic cider—the only one to bear the prestigious Label Rouge—or their more traditional artisanal cuvées, the Nicol family’s products have become essential companions on Breton tables and during moments of sharing.
